3 days Miami, Miami Beach and Key West (total of 7 days in florida!)

This would be a continuation from the previous post on Orlando. Florida is such a lovely state (there are so many things you can do and visit there). Hence, with a span of 7 days, we covered Orlando, Miami, Miami Beach and Key West.

Day 5: Miami Beach/ Miami

After about 3hr30mins drive from Orlando, we reached Miami at late afternoon. We checked into our Grand Beach Hotel, which we had a nice view of the canal and beach from our room. There were 2 bathrooms (too many for only 2 of us)!

Soon after, we visited the Holocaust memorial. It is always heartwrenching to see holocaust related stuff.

Since we have extra time, we also went to take a stroll at the park and see the sun setting (sunset has always been my fav thing to see)

We ended our day with a drink at the South Beach Art deco district.

Day 6: Key West

Don't forget to take photo with this famous buoy

It took us 4 hours to drive from Miami to Key West but the trip was worth it. The Overseas highway is a scenic drive which brings you to Key West. It's one of the most beautiful drives in the US. What's more? Key West is the southern most point and the closest point to Cuba in the US. This itself should be good reason for you to visit Key West.

When we finally arrived in Key West, we visit the East Martello Museum, an atypical museum which used to be a fort and is registered on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

East Martello Museum

Out of the uncommon exhibits (or should I say, eerie), the most famous exhibit  is Robert the Doll. It is said that robert the doll is cursed. One of its owner claimed to be attacked by it. Does this reminds you of...................

I have always find human-looking dolls (especially plastic ones) scary, why would anyone want to buy a scary-looking doll in the first place? ewwwww

If you wish to take a photo of the doll, you will need to seek its permission. If you didn't, he will haunt you and bad things will happen to you. At the museum, you will also see many letters addressing to him to apologise and asking for forgiveness. I do not want to be haunted by a doll, therefore, I did not take photos of it.

Interesting but eerie looking exhibits
When in Key West, you just have to stroll around, relax, people-watch, have some key lime pie and drink. That's how lives are there. You can easily finish Key West within a few hours.

When we were driving back to Miami, we saw the beautiful sun set and decided to stop and enjoy it.

Day 7: Miami Beach/ Miami

What's a trip to Miami without visiting the beach? Furthermore, the beach was just right at our doorstep!

Finally, the last attraction we visited in Florida was the beautiful Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is just like any other mansions you visit except that they have this party boat which is made of entirely of stone and is half-submerged in water. (how cool is that?)

it also featured beautiful gardens in the premises. Imagine this is your house. I will be home by 5pm everyday or maybe, not even leaving my house to go anywhere!
